Donate Your clothes and raise funds for Colostomy UK.
The charity represents interests of people with a colostomy, provides support, reassurance and information to people living with colostomies (so-called colostomates) and their families and carers. The charity’s mission is to listen, to inform and to be the voice of those living with colostomies.
The Colostomy UK raises awareness of what it’s like to have a stoma and what it means to live with a colostomy; the charity addresses the general lack of public knowledge and has an educational mission.
The charity organises open days with the participation of stoma nurses where anyone can come and learn about the colostomy in a nice friendly atmosphere. The Colostomy UK also attends multiple exhibitions and open days of manufactures and suppliers of stoma bags, accessories and services available to colostomates. This provides a great opportunity to meet and interact with colostomates and to share experience and information with them and their friends and families.
Funds received from sales of your unwanted clothes will help Colostomy UK.
The Colostomy UK has seven Trustees, a General Manager, and other full-time staff who are fully trained and responsible for the administration of the Colostomy UK. The charity also has many highly valued volunteers who give their help and support. Over hundred trained and experienced contact volunteers who are also colostomates, are working across the country. Contact volunteers are wonderful dedicated individuals who bring that human touch in what can sometimes be a very delicate and emotional time. They are often asked to chat to patients before their colostomy surgery, and after it in hospitals, usually at a request of stoma nurses. They also arrange home visits.
